Day-1 - Santa Elena,
Petén / Uaxactun / El Remate
Depart from the Santa Elena airport. Transfer to Uaxactún which is believed to be the place where the Maya culture was consolidated, its writing system perfected, and its calendar was begun.
One of its outstanding building is the astronomical observatory.
After visiting Uaxactún, transfer to the town of El Remate.
Free afternoon to enjoy the beautiful lakeshore and shopping the artesian market.
Overnight accommodations at Hotel Casa de Don David*** or similar.
Day-2 - El Remate / Tikal / El Remate
Breakfast, transfer to the archaeological site of Tikal the most powerful city of the Classic period, declared a world heritage site by UNESCO in 1979.
In the park you will visit the plaza of the Great pyramid or the lost world, la plaza of the seven temples, Temples I, II, I V the twin pyramid complex and the Acropolis´among others.
Lunch within the park. Transfer to El Remate. Overnight accommodations at Hotel Casa de Don David or similar.
Day-3 - El Remate / Yaxha / Topoxte / Santa Elena,
Petén
Breakfast and transfer to the archaeological sites of Yaxhá/Topoxté.
Yaxhá (in the Maya language means "Green Water"). This beautiful archaeological site is located on the shores of Laguna Yaxhá.
The Plazas and Acropolis' are connected by sacbés (elevated roads).
Yaxhá has many temples, but only one has been largely restores "Temple 216".
It is the third largest Maya city in the Petén and is of the Early Classic and Post Classic periods.
Topoxté is located on an island in the middle of Laguna Yaxhá, the largest body of water in the Maya Biosphere Reserve.
Visit the sites. Transfer to the city of Santa Elena, Petén (Flores).
