Itinerary

Day-1 - Santa Elena,
Petén / Sayaxche / Ceibal / Punta De Chimino
Departs at 7:00 a.m.
Depart from the Santa Elena airport to the frontier town of Sayaxché.
This charming riverside town is located to the ancient ruins of the same name, on the banks of the Pasión river.
The city is the major hub of transportation and communication in the region.
Sayaxché is our gateway to the Petexbatun region, which we will explore over the next two days.
Transfer overland to the archaeological site of Ceibal. Here we will visit the largest ancient Maya center in the Pasión region.
After taking in the ruins and eating our box lunch and gazing at the view over the river plain below we will transfer to the frontier town of Sayaxché and continue on by boat to the archaeological site of Punta de Chimino.
Visit the site amidst the surrounding jungle (time permitting).
Dinner and overnight accommodations at the Chimino's Island eco-lodge.

Day-2 - Punta De Chimino / Aguateca / Sayaxche / Santa Elena,
Petén
Departs at 7:00 a.m.
After an early morning breakfast at Chimino's Island eco-lodge, transfer by boat to the archaeological site of Aguateca, the second Petexbatun capital, a site which is currently under excavation and is led by Japanese archaeologist Takeshi Inomata and continues to provide important information on the daily life of the elite Maya.
We will explore this charming jungle-swathed site and will return to Chimino's Island eco-lodge for lunch.
After lunch, transfer by boat to the frontier town of Sayaxché and continue on overland to Santa Elena, Petén.
Overnight accommodations at Hotel Petén Esplendido*** or similar.
Day-3 - Santa Elena, Petan / Tikal / Santa Elena,
Petén
Departs at 7:00 a.m.
After an early morning breakfast in Santa Elena, transfer to the archaeological site of Tikal. There we will visit the Great Plaza, the Plaza of the Great Pyramid or the Lost World, the Plaza of the Seven Temples, the East Plaza, the West Plaza, Temples I, II, III, IV, V, and VI, the Twin Pryamid Complex and the Acropolis'.
Lunch within the Park. In the afternoon transfer to Santa Elena, Petén.
