M.V. Santa Cruz - Galapagos Islands Tours

Passenger Capacity: 90, Built: 1979, renovated 1998 
Length: 280 ft., Beam: 87 ft. 
Officers: Ecuadorian, Staff and Crew: 48, Ecuadorian 

  
Cabins: 48. Cabins are all outside, have air-conditioning and have a private bath with shower. There are single, double, triple and quad cabins and four suites. Dining: There is an open-seating dining room with one seating. Cuisine is continental and local. 

Dress: Casual. Bring shoes for sometimes rocky walking. 

Facilities and Activities: There is a lounge and observation deck. Flippers, masks and snorkels are available to rent on board. With its 1998 renovation, the stern was extended 9 meters, a bar and hot tub were added to the sun deck, and a reading room added. A fleet of pangas take guests ashore for interaction with Galapagos wildlife. The island hikes are led by naturalist guides, who also give lectures and slide shows in the evenings. Urbina Bay offers the chance to see giant tortoises in the wild. There are options of short or long hikes of various difficulty and swimming and snorkeling. They also have a glass bottom boat. 

Itineraries: There are three, four and seven-night cruises in the Galapagos Islands. One of the stops is to the Charles Darwin Research Station in Puerto Ayora. At breeding season visitors see young tortoises hatched from incubated eggs. When they are old enough to survive, they are returned to various islands.

One of the guest cabins.  Cabins are available with double, triple, and quadruple bunks.  All have private heads with showers.

IMPORTANT NOTICE: As per established policies for some of the Galapagos vessel operators, a “Release of Responsibility” form must be signed by the parents or guardians accompanying children, under the age of 12, who are traveling to the Galapagos Islands.  

A printed document must be signed prior to the beginning of the Galapagos Expedition Cruise aboard the Santa Cruz.
