All of us here at Sacha Lodge are very proud and excited to
reveal the completion of the first self standing rigid
suspension canopy walk. We believe that this suspension
canopy walk is the first of its kind and are thrilled to
announce that it is now open. |

| Located
within our 5,000 acre private reserve, 3 miles from the
shores of the Rio Napo and 1 mile from the lodge, is where
the canopy walk has been constructed. This location was
chosen, not because of accessibility from the river, but
because of the health and diversity of this particular patch
of rainforest on the reserve. The canopy walk allows guests
to walk within as well as above the canopy to get an up
close and personal view of the rainforest. Two of three
towers have observation decks every 12 meters which makes
the tower accessible for everyone. The top of the towers (36
meters high) allow guests to get a "birds eye
view" of all the wonders and beauty the tropical
rainforest has to offer.
The canopy walk is
designed as a sturdy walkway enabling guests to comfortably
move along while enjoying the spectacular views. The Total
length of the canopy walk is 275 meters at a height of 36
meters above the ground.

| The
construction of the canopy walk was by no means an easy
project to complete. 45 tons of rust-proof steel was used to
construct the three towers. The steel was transported
from Coca to Sacha by canoe and then hauled by cart through
the forest for over a mile to the designated site.

| to secure
the deep foundations of the three towers. 10,000
meters of cable is used to suspend and stabilize the
walkway. The boardwalk itself is suspended steel, however
the floor upon which people walk is made from a non-slip
durable fiberglass.
We believe that the
addition of our new self-standing rigid suspension canopy
walk will make Sacha Lodge stand above all the other eco-tourist
lodges in Ecuador and for that matter in South America. We
are very excited and enthusiastic about our new addition and
