Kapawi is located in the heart of the Amazon basin, near the Peruvian border,
within the boundaries of Ecuador 250-km
(about 170-miles) southeast of Quito on the Pastaza River, a major tributary of the Amazon.
Kapawi is one of the most pristine and isolated places in the Amazon Basin and is accessible only by
air, on land owned
entirely by the Achuar people.
Experience a day with the Achuar families hiking in the rainforest, swimming, birding or a number of other activities. As part of a small group, no larger than ten, you can choose from three programs; easy, moderate and difficult. If a birding guide is desired, mention that to your booking agent.
