On the route To the Pio XI and Amalia Glaciers
Navigating towards the Glaciers of the Southern Ice Field is an unparallel experience.
As we navigate we explore the channels, bordering the Southern Ice Field, visiting its Glaciers, considered to be the third largest deposit of fresh water in the world, here you will be enthralled with the purity of this unique scenery.
The Southern Ice Field has a surface area of 13,000 km2 and a length of 350
km. The immense ice mass is found in the highest peaks of the Andes Mountain, its size is equivalent to 6 times greater than that of the Belgium.

It possesses 48 glaciers, one of which we will visit, Pío XI, the largest glacier in the
hemisphere at 1,263 square km, which is almost equal to the total land area of the capital city of Santiago Chile.
It has a length of 64 kilometers, and a face surface that measures 6 kilometers; its ice towers reach upwards to 75 meters in height. Without doubt the Amalia is a colossus of nature. While in this zone we will also visit the
Asia Fjord and Calvo Inlet glaciers, whose diverse sizes and forms add to the awesome spectacles of raw nature that are a part of this voyage. It is here that we also participate in excursion in motorboats that take us amongst the ice floes as we enjoy a toast with whisky on millennium old ice.
